Going Green for Education

Our Story

The Imani Seven Forks Half Marathon was born from a simple belief: that sport has the power to transform lives—not just for those who run, but for those who need it most. First launched in 2023, the marathon was established to create a sustainable funding stream for Imani Christian School, a sanctuary for over 200 vulnerable children in Embu County. What began as a local charity race has grown into one of Kenya's most anticipated annual sporting events, attracting elite athletes, corporate teams, school groups, and environmental advocates from across the region. Sanctioned by Athletics Kenya, the race takes place along the spectacular Seven Forks hydro dams at the Gitaru Circuit in Embu County—a route as challenging as it is beautiful. But beyond the medals and finish-line photos lies a deeper purpose: every registration fee, every sponsorship shilling, and every donation goes directly toward educating, feeding, housing, and empowering Kenya's most vulnerable children.
